Hello,

I recently applied for TWP ( intracompany Transfer) at CHC London. documents where recieved by CHC on the 29th April 2013. Does anyone know how long the process of getting the TWP (ICT) at CHC London takes?

I know the website says 8 to 10 weeks but does that also include intracompany transfers?

I am expected to start work in Toronto at the end of June, has anyone experienced a quicker turnover than 8 to 10 weeks?

Thanks

Hi, intra-company transfer requests can receive additional scrutiny depending on the strength of the case made in the application (i.e., is the work really specialized, are proprietary skills and knowledge required, etc.). There has recently been negative media coverage of ICTs, so that is a consideration right now. I don't know about processing timelines but if your employer put together a good application, hopefully things will go well.

I don't think the recent cases which media highlighted were strictly ICT cases because employer seems to have received positive LMO. As we know LMO is not needed for ICT specialized worker/manager cases.

I was referring to recent media articles regarding the ICT provision being abused by consulting companies. These were published in Ontario as a follow up to the RBC coverage.

I was referring to that as well. How do you know they were ICT cases? igate probably hired Temporary workers residing in Canada. I am saying I read an article which says LMO was approved for the workers...

google it with the following phrase

Ottawa admits it approved request for foreign workers to replace RBC employees

Re: TWP ( Intracompany Transfer) CHC London

I am not sure if that applies to me, i have worked with the parent company in the UK for 7 years and would be transferring to our Toronto Office using ICT route (managerial capacity) so LMO exempt.

My company employed the services of an immigration law firm in Canada to prepare my application in line with my relevant job description on the NOC list which should hopefully be in accordance with the requirements for TWP.

Okay, let me clarify. When I wrote “These [ICT articles] were published in Ontario as a follow up to the RBC coverage,” I didn't mean that RBC/iGate were known to have used the ICT provision to bring in foreign workers. I meant that continuing coverage of the TFWP after the RBC news first broke, has begun focusing on other problematic aspects of the program, such as the 15% wage rule as well as ICT loopholes used by employers to circumvent the need for LMOs.

On a related note, media coverage highlighted that while RBC laid off 45 workers, they also claimed that only 1 TFW was brought in. If this is true, I would guess that the other replacements came in as business visitors or ICTs (the latter are also technically TFWs).

You're LMO exempt, yes, but as I said, there is increased scrutiny on the whole TFWP (ICTs as well), so there may be additional rigour applied to processing requests in the current climate. Didn't mean to scare you, just wanted to give you a realistic sense of what's going on right now. As long as you meet the criteria for an ICT, you should be fine. From what you've written, you would meet the NOC and duration of past employment tests.

Found a very informative spreadsheet on data website which shows actual processing times for TWP/TRV for pervious years.

gotowwwdata.gc.ca
browse datesets.
citizens and immigration canada
Temporary Residents Applications processed abroad and processing timelines.

Hopefully the timeline wont have changed that much.
