Hi,

I have a question to the 4 year limit of worktime in Canada.
My friend got last year a renewal of her work permit for another 2 years (till Aprill 2016).
But she is alreayd here since 2010 actually, so her 4 year working limit expires now in April 2015.
We think immigration simply did not realized that and issued the WP, as our company always renewed the WPs just for one year or max. 2years.

She doesn't want to apply for PR and was planning already to go back home this year, but then she got the new WP for 2 years.
Does she get in trouble when she continues working? If someone figures out?
I can not find info about this situation.

Thanx for your help

Thats not unusual. When the 4 year time limit was brought in existing TFW were allowed to remain in Canada up to April 2015. I'm sure I read that in Alberta there are 10's of thousands of TFW's who have a visa that expires in April 2015.

What's the NOC? NOC 0 or A are already exempted from the 4 year limit.

There are lots of cases like this nowadays. there are some that I know that they got approved for a new Wp. Even though they are supposed to go by April 1 as per the 4yr cap, since they applied for anew LMIA. she can still work since they issued until next year.

It is NOC B for us.

I just wanted to make sure that no one can tell her to leave, even the officer might have made a mistake or something...
