TWP Application from US - Online vs Mail / In Person

Hi,

Thanks for running this website.

I am an international student in the US and I am supposed to start working in Canada in 2 months from now. I am hopeful of getting a positive LMO in the next seven days and want to apply for the TWP asap.

I am wondering if I should apply for the TWP online or should I send the documents to the NY consulate by mail? If it helps, I can also to appear in person at the consulate. I know the website says that priority is given to online applicants. However, I have read on these forums that mailing in the documents or appearing in person has been faster in some cases. Moreover, my online visitor visa application took almost two months to be processed (including passport return times).

Can anyone from the US who successfully went through the TWP process share their experience and timeline? Thanks a lot!

From whatever little that I've seen on these forums, timelines vary significantly even for similar cases. The Canadian visa processing is very opaque and there's little you can do to expedite it. I would suggest you to go with an online application, since that's the officially recommended channel.

I am a little concerned with my timeline. I applied in first week of April and I have not received any update yet. Moreover, I am supposed to start working next week.

My employer applied for an ALMO (Accelerated LMO) which took 10 days.

Great... for me A LMO is not an option as A LMO is suspended by Govt.. I have to wait a longer... also after LMO ...how long it takes to get TWP..are you US citizen ?

No, I am not a US citizen and I applied online on 4th April. I have not heard anything back since then.
