I got two questions about the job in the immigration list.

My job is in the list. 0213: Computer and Information Systems Managers

And I am manager now, however, i don't have title in current company. And my major is not Computer science, does it matter.

I have six years application software engineer experience, but my major is accounting. Will that impact my apply?

So am I capable to immigration to CAN regarding the job?

By the way, I have passed the IELTS with Listening 6.5, reading 7, writing 6, speaking 7.

In the assessment tool, my point is 67.

check the list of 38 occupations if your work is in the list, if not... you have a slim chance if not no chance to apply as the immigration will automatically reject your application... good luck! :D

it doesnt matter as long as you have the experience that matches anything in that 38 list of occupations... you know what you can do? you can try to talk to your boss and ask if he can give you that designation (title) that matches the one in the list and start from there... goodluck

Thanks for your reply, I think I can get the refer letter regard as a manager, because I am.

Because in my current company, it only has Vice President, Executive Director, Manager Direct title.

Although I am a manager, but I don't have manager title.

remember that it should be a specific title before you process your application otherwise it will be returned to you with a refusal due to insufficient documents or something like that... good luck!

Title is not at all important. Different companies have different policies. It your work experience and job responsibilities. If you can validate it with a letter from your current employer and it matches NOC, you should get through provided you pass other factors also.

Hi CANIMG,

I dont think you have to worry....pls check the below link

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=0213

As long as you can show proof for the below mentioned duties and educational requirements you are accepted

Main duties
Computer and information systems managers perform some or all of the following duties:
•Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) departments and companies
•Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
•Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
•Assemble and manage teams of information systems personnel to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems
•Control the budget and expenditures of the department, company or project
•Recruit and supervise computer analysts, engineers, programmers, technicians and other personnel and oversee their professional development and training.

Employment requirements
•A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, commerce or engineering is usually required.•Several years of experience in systems analysis, data administration, software engineering, network design or computer programming, including supervisory experience, are required.

Hope this helps

Cheers,
Rishab

Hello all,

Thanks for the help.

Right now, I am clear about my question. The major in accounting will not impact me.

I am gonna to talk with my employer to get the refer letter.

It's bit tricky, but I have to do it.

Good luck to all!

Thanks,
