The CIC website says at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

ECA assessment results:

A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificateFootnote 1
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diplomaFootnote 1
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Graduate diplomaFootnote 1
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Study Toward a Master's Degree
A lot of people seem to think this only applies to post grad, however the guidance explicitly says any of the sections below except high school which includes Bachelors, Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute and One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

From this any program that is more than three years plus any post secondary degree, diploma or certificate should count, however CIC will not give a definitive answer only a link to the above page. I have written a letter to John McCallum requesting clarification...

Hope this helps.

This has been confusion going on from the first day. Immigration consultants however mention bachelors plus anything other than high school diploma to be 2 certificates. Whereas, cic neither confirms nor denies other than directing to the information provided by markicof

If you have 3 years bachelor degree and 2 years post secondary diploma, you can select two or more certificate.
3 of my buddies got their ppr last month and they have also selected two or more cert. I think there should be no confusion anymore.

PS:I have also received ontario pnp and selected the two or more option. Waiting for PR now...

FROM CIC website:

How do I answer the question in Express Entry about my education if I have two or more degrees or diplomas?

To get the correct number of points, make sure you choose the answer that best reflects your case.

For example: For each entry, if you have two Bachelor degrees, or one Bachelor and a two-year college diploma, choose “Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.”

If you have more than two degrees or diplomas, you will not get any extra points. You should choose the same option as above, unless you have:

a master’s degree, or
a doctoral level degree (PhD).
You will get more points for a master’s or a doctorate, so if you have one, choose it from the drop-down menu.

Nice search. This is also in the help section when filling up pre and post ITA profile.

Another useful information can be seen here

I also posted another useful link inside that thread. Hope this helps.

This seems to be clear. I'll go ahead with my 2 or more certificates selection. Thank you

Asivad what do you make out of this?

Does this seem to make things clear about the 2 or more certificates?
This does appear to settle it for now. There was a recent refusal reported for incorrect selection of educational credential which caused this problem to resurface. Hope it rests in peace finally.

All the best!

Great work guys. I only wish there was some way to organize the thread into a 'Most Important Threads' section. I'm hoping to get my WES evaluation of my Australian CA next week and may need to refer to this again. Fantastic research and thanks for the initiative sumanthyj.
