Hello All,

I had a confusion. Right after getting after my PGWP, I started doing two jobs - one as a full time Warehouse Associate (not eligibible for CEC class) and second as a part-time bookeeper (which comes under CEC) for a sole proprietor truck owner operator. Both these jobs were carried on for the same period of time for about 6 months.

So, the question is, can I count my second job experience in express entry although its:

-a part-time
-carried along with a full-time non-eligible job.

If yes, how many hours am i supposed to show per week, it being part-time?

I believe you should still be able to count your part-time experience - however, keep in mind that (depending on the hours actually worked) I think your 6 months part-time will translate to a max of 3 months full-time.

Hope this helps - if you still need further clarification, I would suggest posting in the main express entry page as it seems to have more activity. Perhaps one of the seniors could tell you for sure.

Since your full-time job is not eligible, you only show your part-time job.

"supposed to show"? There's not a right or wrong answer, LOL, you show the number of hours you work. If the number is less than 30 hours per week, IRCC will determin that it is part-time and pro-rate it (# weeks worked * # hours worked per week / 30) to get the full-time equivalent.

For example, if you work 20 hours per week for one year, 52 weeks * 20 hours per week = 1040 hours. 1040/30 = 34 FTE weeks (round down). You would need 52 FTE weeks to be eligible using part-time work (or a total of 1560 part-time hours).

If the # of hours you work per week varies (week 1 = 10 hours, week 2 =12 hours, etc.) you can provide an average in this form.
