If I am doing two jobs simultaneously - one as a software dev in a company & other as freelancer (both for same duration), can I write in the form as:

2014 - 04 Present Software Developer + Freelancer XYZ company + Freelancer

Please advise if its okay

its better to add in two lines as these are two different employments:

2014 - 04 Present Work software developer in XYZ company
2014 - 04 Present Work Freelancer (self employed)

i think freelancer is self employed. if so, write self employed instead of freelancer in employer section.

The title says WORK/EDUCATION so either you need to type in work if you were working or type education if you were studying. Writing software developer, freelancer under work/education is not required. rest it is upto you.

It appears above that that you have two titles for the same company, so I don't recommend listing it like that.

If they're two two separate jobs, write them on separate lines.

But how many hours do you work freelance? If it's just one or two small contracts every few months, you might consider leaving it off your application. This is not your tax return. The CIC is interested in your work as a proxy for residency and a quick window into your life in Canada. Freelance work from your house, especially if it's very sporadic, doesn't give them much relevant information. If your other work is full time and the freelance work is far from it, I would consider just listing the full time work.

You mean I don't need to mention job title??? Just write "Work" or "Education" in work/education column???

That is what i did in my case because the title states WORK/EDUCATION. It is separated by a "/"
But again, its your decision and personal choice.

So ESL/FSL should be written as "education" or no?

Its your personal choice, you have two options:

2014 - 04 Present Work software developer in XYZ company
2014 - 04 Present Work Freelancer (self employed)
xxxx-xx xxxx-xx Education ESL at abc institute

xxxx-xx denotes year and month

2nd option:

2014 - 04 Present Work:Software developer XYZ company
2014 - 04 Present Work:FreelancerWork self employed
xxxx-xx xxxx-xx Education:ESL abc institute

Again the decision is yours the way you feel comfortable.

Thanks

And what if I write this due to limited space (no job titles):

2014-04 Present Work XYZ company
xxxx-xx xxxx-xx English as second language ABC school

Is this also okay?

You can use additional piece of paper to write more details if you want:
check this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0002ETOC.asp

it states that:

If you need more space for any section, use an extra sheet of paper and indicate the number and/or letter of the section you are completing and submit it along with your application

I did not do take any education in past 4 years but i did work so i wrote like the following in my application and it is in process now. There is no harm adding job title. Its your wish. I did like the following:

yyyy-mm to yyyy-mm WORK XYZ company
yyyy-mm to yyyy-mm WORK DEF company

In the column for employer / school . I think require to write XYZ company instead of ur designation "software developer"

2014 - 04 Present Work XYZ company
