hey guys from whatever I figured out from my gcms notes, I do not think imy result will be a favourable one.
However, I have worked as a baker at Tims for the last one year. So, may be I will qualify based on that but my question is can one person have two cec application @the same time? not one fsw,one cec..not one pnp and one cec..I am talking about two cec's ( international student category to be more precise)

Pls provide the correct answer and if anyone have expedience of doing it , it would be really great.

Thanks a lot.

You can't have 2 applications concurrently in the same category, so the answer is no. PS I don't think re-heating donuts in Tim's is going to qualify you as a baker.

Also there in no "International category". If you try to apply before there is a decision on your ongoing application, they will return your new application by stating "You already have an open application" etc etc.

Hi

We can have any number of PR applications under the same and other streams also.
There is no limitation on this.

If u get a positive decision on a PR application, rest all applications will be cancelled and if they are under application received and not in process you will get your application fee back for the cancelled application.

If u get a negative decision on a PR application, rest all applications will not be cancelled and they will be processed based on their stream and timelines.

That is incorrect. You cannot have more than one application in any given stream. I.e. you can have one applied under CEC, one in FSW , one in provincial and another in sponsorship but NOT 2 under CEC for example. Also, no application is going to be cancelled automatically if you are approved under either one, they all will be processed concurrently. In the end you will have to choose under which ONE you want to get your PR though.

Hi,

In our forum also there were many threads discussed about the same. And I have read the same info in CIC website also. The below is one of the references bit close to your question. But I am trying to find the exact link which matches to your question.

Please find the below reference

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=677&t=6

Q: I am included in another permanent residency application. Should I still apply for permanent resident status under the Canadian Experience Class?

A: Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria for the CEC is free to apply. You may have more than one application in process, but only one application can be finalized at the time that a visa is issued. Any additional applications must be withdrawn or refused before the permanent resident visa can be issued. To request a second application be withdrawn contact your visa office. Otherwise, the visa office will finalize any other application(s) as refused and inform you in advance of granting permanent residence

Hi Konkanasetty,

the question from the CIC website said (i have another permanent residence application, should i still apply under the canadian experience class?)
it's very simple and easy, you can not have to PR applications in process concurrently under the same stream but you can have more then one under different streams.

Hi

I am 100% Certain you can have two applications under one category.

There is NO limitation on the number of applications you put it in.

I have THREE applications going on right now. Out of which TWO applications are CEC.

And I have got the AOR from both of them and they both are in process.

Please dont hesitate to apply for another one.

Thanks

this is not true, once they find out one of the two of your CEC applications will be withdrawn by the visa office,i don't know how both of them went in process though, maybe a mistake by the centralized intake office in sydney, nova scotia.

I have gone back and forth with the support in the visa office as well as with call center support.

And they told me "If I want to withdraw I will have to let them know through email".

Can you show me any reference on the cic website or manuals where it prohibits you from applying twice.

As long as you are paying the fee for processing it twice , it will be processed twice. But you cant expect a different result.

Thanks

Hi gimmeThatPR,

if i remember well i think your application was rejected at the CIO sydney, nova scotia and you emailed them asking for your file to be reopened,so the considered your request but that is just one application not two my friend.
it is just a common sense that you can't have to applications under one stream,to me it does not make any sense at all.

Hello canadavisa13

Show us one proof that we should not have multiple applications on one stream.

I am unsure of this debate but I did take a look at at the operation manual for officers on CEC.
This is what it says:

5.2 Fees

Applicants are required to pay two fees:
 the cost recovery fee;
 the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF).
Cost recovery fee
Regulations prescribe fees payable for processing an application for a permanent resident visa (PRV). R295 specifies who must pay the cost recovery fees and what the fees are.
The cost recovery fee must be paid only for persons who intend to immigrate to Canada. This includes the principal applicant and any accompanying family members.
The cost recovery fee is payable at the time the application is made. An applicant may withdraw an application and receive a refund of the cost recovery fee any time before processing of the application begins. Once processing has begun, the cost recovery fee is not refundable.
Note: Processing starts with the initial evaluation of the application. In order to receive a refund of the cost recovery fee, an applicant must request a withdrawal before this evaluation has started. If an applicant requests a change in category at any time, a new application and new fee must be submitted. An applicant may have more than one application in process, but only one application can be finalized with visa issuance. Any additional applications must be finalized as withdrawn or refused.

This is rather ambiguous as the previous line talks about other categories but it equally doesn't say anything about 2 applications not being allowed.

My 2cents....
