Hello,

Is there anyone here currently starting sponsorship or going through sponsorship for their Tunisian spouse? We got married just as everything shut down due to Covid and this affected all our wedding plans. :(

Our application for spousal sponsorship from Tunisia was received on June 10th. Obviously we haven’t heard back yet. What would you like to know? What’s preventing you from sending your application? Good luck.

What's preventing me from sending it is because they will question our marriage due to our marriage celebrations. There was a curfew of 6 pm and everything was closed. We had to limit it to around 30 people and we did it at home - even then we weren't supposed to have people at the house.

Also, because we just got married in March and I am worried it's too soon to try and apply.

I see. I don't think anybody really knows how IRCC will handle these Covid weddings. We got married in April with only 12 people total. We have included photos showing our outings as a couple since we started dating (about 15 months before marriage). We have also included a one-page letter explaining the situation. That's all we could do to show that our relationship and marriage are genuine.
I believe as a married couple, you don't have to wait to apply, unless you know that you're going to have more celebrations soon and you wish to showcase them in your application, then it is probably worth the wait.

When did you submit your application and are they continuing to process them as normal?

I applied for my Canadian Citizenship and it's been in process since January 22. It's been 10 months since they've received it and it will definitely go beyond the year because they're not doing any testing. :(

That is so weird... usually goes to Paris, no? But, this is positive they are already working on the PA's app!
