I am not sure how students are paying their tuition fees well in advance. I enquired about this from a couple of universities where I was interested in persuing my studies like Simon Fraser or University of Regina. They do not accept fees unless or until I come to university and register for courses in person because tuition fees also depends on how many courses I would like to take per semester.

They said that estimated cost of one year tuition fees is written on the acceptance letter and this info is enough for a study permit. I don't need to pay anything in advance.

How come are students paying their fees in advance?

I am confused, to be honest.

Thanks,

Assad

really..but many university ask u to submit fees well in advance..SFU is good university so may b this is the reason and ya it also depends on how much courses u take per semester..
well i also want to apply in sfu..do they have intake in may 2011...i m looking for some 2 years diploma from sfu

I believe it is a tri-semester university, you should drop them an email and enquire about this. U of Regina is also a tri-semster university and next term will start in May 2011, 1 after Jan term.

I applied to 4 universities overall and was admitted into all of them. Bilal, which one do you think is best?

1. Simon Fraser University
2. New Brunswick
3. University of Saskatchewan
4. University of Regina

well i personally think that simon fraser is a good choice .. for which intake u have applied and in which course.

i also want to go to SFU..but i m late for january session as i have still to appear for IELTS next month so many b i apply in may session if they have one...do sfu also offer some kind of diploma in hotel management .

Computer science, 4 year degree and Jan 2011, intake! Classes will kick off from Jan 6.

Bilal, just drop them an email and they will get back to you with correct info.

okay thnx and good luck with ur visa bro.......

Thanks for your wishes. I just got an email from SFU. I am only allowed to pay semester fees when I reach there on campus. They said that having an acceptance letter is more than enough, applying for a study permit.

Hi guys,

I am looking to get admission in a Canadian university. I don't know which one but I definitely need a guidance on this. I am looking to do MS in Computer Science of Software Engineering. Please suggest me some universities which are good plus academic fees are economical. Also, My GPA is around 3.05 as a whole and 3.24 in last year .. so it's a B grade according to Canadian Grading System. Will I be able to get admission??
