Hi

I have been accepted by University of Waterloo. I have to apply for a study permit from Pakistan. Before i could do so I have a confusion regarding tuition fee payment. A friend of mine who went to the same university last year told me that you have to pay tuition for two semester before you apply for a study permit. Keeping this in mind i checked the website cic and did not find any such requirement. So i thought that tuition for one semester would be enough so i transfered $9500 to the university. I have also got an $8000 scholarship. I want to know if cic does require tuition for two terms and does it grant study permit if i only show them that i have transfered the partial amount, i have scholarship and i have bank balance showing more than one years cost and evaluation documents of assets showing that i am well established in my country and that i can afford my stay there.

Thank You.

Nowhere does it state that you must pay the tuition fee, although it is quite likely that the University would not issue an acceptance letter without payment of at least one semester.

Also show that you are willing to come back after study (family tidings, wealth etc.). Payment of tuition fees to apply for student visa is not that common. However, submit the documents with your application as you have already transfered the amount.
Your case is strong as you have scholarship. Do not worry!
My only advise is that try to show them that you will return after study, this is an important factor in issuing student visa.

Good luck.
