I am trying to figure out how to apply for permission to visit Victoria via clippers cruise in Dec for Christmas. I feel as if I have been reading on this situation for months on end and can't find the answer.
My husband was convicted of Murder over 35 years ago in the US. He was released over 10 years ago by Governor Gregoire in Washington state. Upon released he was granted permission into all public schools to work with youth. Which he still does. He is a full time prison minister and works with DOC for after care of released felons. He has had all travel sanctions lifter in Feb of this year and has obtained his passport. Going to Victoria at Christmas has always been a dream but we want to make sure if we get to the customs department we are not held or turned around. Can any one offer any advise on how to get approval. Everything we have seen says if the crime was over 7 years ago he could be allowed but no way of finding out or applying for a visa or anything that I have found. He has ever went to the Consults office here in Washington and couldn't get a real answer.
