TRV visa required for re-enter Canada

Hi!

Right now I am holding Post Graduated Work Permit (Expired in Feb 2017). However, I wanted to go back home on Dec30 - Jan 17 2017. So I know that I needed a TRV and PGWP in order to re-enter Canada.

My PGWP is ok to re enter canada but my student visa was expired last year hence I applied the TRV recently with this form IMM5708 on November 22 2016 and now it's been a month after I send it. I am leaving in 10 days and really really worried that I might have a problem re-enter Canada.

Is there a way I can guaranteed my re-enter? or It is ok for me to just re-enter by PGWP and showed the POE of my application I have submitted on November 22?

Please help me on this it will definitely be a relieved

You need a valid TRV on re-entry. In fact if you do not have this you won't even be able to board the plane to Canada, as airlines are strict that TRVs must be valid when boarding.

Plan ahead and ask the CIC if it is OK to submit your passport for stamping in your local embassy while abroad. They will guide you with this.

Yes. You can apply for TRV while abroad.

IMM5708 is not a TRV form. If that is the app that you submitted, then you applied to change your status in Canada to visitor.
