Hi Guys,

Hope you are going fine, I have applied for my TRV after study permit extension. I sent my passport to ottawa processing centre. I have not heard back anything yet either. No update on the online cic account either. Sent passport via canadapost xpress on Jan 25th 2021 still waiting.. no idea so worried..

Thanks for your reply! one more question. What if I enter Canada a day or two days before my visa expires? Would they allow me stay in Canada if my visa expires and I'd have already apply for TRV?

What kind of visa - visitor/work? A TRV will not allow you entry due to COVID.

I have post-graduate work permit. But my visa is expiring on April30, 2021.

As long as your TRV isn’t expired, you can re-enter Canada with your PGWP. You need to show you have a job offer or that you normally live in canada.

Thanks but what if my TRV expires the next day when I enter in Canada. I have applied yesterday, might get approval of visa, but not have stamp on passport. Can I stay then?

If you are entering Canada before your TRV expires then you are ok. Processing is around 60 days so you will need to re-enter Canada before the 30th. Or you wait and not travel at all (best thing to do) until you have your TRV. Still when you return on your PGWP/TRV you need to proved you have a job or that you normally live in Canada.

No. You need extension on Visa only of you leave Canada and want to enter again.

Hi everyone, i have sent my passport for trv extension by papermail thru Canada Post on Jan 21 2021 and received at CPC Ottawa on 26th Jan and as i have got my study permit extension by december 2020 i have taken all precautions to apply properly and on time but ever since my passport got delivered i have got no update about it from Case Processing Center Ottawa. If anyone here who have faced similar issue and got through it can share maybe? I am very frustrated here as my passport is a very sensitive and important document.

Pls share your experiences kindly, it would be very great!
