Hi
I applied Online for a TRV for my wife and son since we were vacationing in India.
We got a email from CIC to submit passports on Friday 11th 3:30pm .We have return tickets to Canada booked on 17th 10pm
I couldnt submit passports on Friday as they close at 4pm.
Since I am flying to Bangalore on Monday morning ,can i directly go to Consulate and request them to stamp passports showing urgency /flight ticket copies.
If they refuse ,i will submit to VFS .
How long does VFS take to return passports back, submitted at bangalore and couriered to Mumbai .Will i get it back on Thursday 17th ??

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately, you cannot visit the Bangalore Consulate to submit the passports. You'll have to submit their passports at the Bangalore VFS/VAC early on Monday.

Normally, applications/passports are despatched from the VAC to the consulate at the end of the day ie after 4pm. As the VAC and Consulate are both located in Bangalore, you can request VFS staff to send the passports for stamping early on Monday (if possible, as an exception) instead of EOD.

You can also send a request (using the Case Specific Enquiry for the Bangalore visa office) mentioning the flight details/requesting expedited stamping.

My advice is to stay an extra day in Bangalore ie until Tuesday/Wednesday and collect the passports yourself.... do not opt for the processed passports to be couriered to Mumbai as Thursday, September 17th is Ganesh Chathurti (bank holiday/couriers may not be delivered too).... the Bangalore VAC, too, is closed

Cheers :)

Hello,
We have also sent passport for my mother under supervisa stamping to Banglore office on Tuesday. Still online process showing it is under process. Please guide me how can we expedite. Today is Sunday and still no news from them.

Thanks,

It could take about 5-7 working days after submitting the passport..... this includes passport transmission time as well.

The visa office/CVAC do not work on weekends. Perhaps, your mother's processed passport will be despatched early next week.... if this does not happen then you can send a CSE (Case Specific Enquiry) mentioning flight details (if applicable)

Cheers :)

Hi Bryanna
I just got an email at 4am from Ottawa that PR is granted for my wife. Does this mean her TRV which is not yet stamped ,is invalid .

I went into the VFS VAC office ,really unhelpful people . They said it takes a week for passports to be returned. I submitted passports with sticky notes and copy of my flight tickets with them urging expedited processing.Went to Consulate by evening .
I plan to walk into Canadian Consulate tomorrow morning to request for passports to be returned by evening to me /VFS .I also sent a Case specific enquiry .
I hope it works.
Thanks

That's terrible..... especially as you flew to Bangalore from Mumbai just to submit the passports.

You will not be allowed into the Consulate.... you can give it a try though. You may get lucky considering your situation.

You can also send an email to: BAGLR-G@international.gc.ca (for enquiries)

Also do check your inbox

Cheers :)

Hi Bryanna
I got an email from Bangalore consulate that they have granted my request for expedited stamping considering the family situation . They will release passport at 3pm to VFS . Went to VFS and showed the email at 4pm .They opened up the bags from consulate and I was given the passports .
The consulate people and VFS guys helped us this time around .
Thankfully the family will fly together .
Thanks for your help Bryanna .
CIC does consider and accept genuine emergencies :)

Hi,

This was almost like nail biting suspense :) Staying back an extra day helped (and the emergency sticky notes) :) :)

I'm very happy it worked out well.... with two days to spare before your flights

Bon voyage :)
