hello !

I submitted my TRV for renewal inside Canada by mail , about a month ago. I am done first year undergraduate studies and I want to travel and come back to canada. I have a vaild study permit till 2014. But my question is , how long does it take for a TRV to be processed , on my uni paper it says up to 28 days or longer depending on the consulate, but on the website it says 164 days ! is that true ? The website for cic.gc canada.
and one more thing , has anyone ever applied for TRV renewal ? if you have please do let me know how long it took you

1. Since you can't apply for a TRV to an office in Canada, you can probably expect that is coming back. You have to apply to one of the Canadian offices in the US or to the office in your home country.

i applied to the office in Fort Erie , ON . does that mean it will be sent to the US ? i followed the exact procedures the university gave me .

Then you applied to Buffalo, Fort Erie is just the Canadian mail address for Buffalo. The processing time on their web site is presently 30 days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp#west

i applied on the 27th of april , but ive been reading posts and theyre all saying its taking quite longer than usual . Hope it doesnt though , i really wanna go back home . Hope it gets here by the beginning of july !
