TRV rejected

Hi all,

I am residing in Canada on a study permit and my husband is working in Dubai.
Just recently, he applied for TRV to visit me but got rejected with the reason that the VO was not sure whether he will return back or not. They provided the following reasons for refusal:

1 -> Family ties in Canada and country of residence
2 -> Current employment status
3 -> Personal assets and financial status

Now we are planing to re-apply but confused about how to cover up these reasons.

My husband's entire family is in Pakistan. How are we supposed to show the ties in country of residence then? What are the possible ways?
We included the appointment letter, employment letter, salary receipts, leave approval, and labor contract as a proof of employment? How are we supposed to deal with improving the current employment status?

I'd really appreciate some guidance on these issues.

Regards

Sorry to hear about your hubby's refusal. Here's my take:

1. Since his wife is in Canada, he has stronger ties to Canada making it less likely he will return. To obtain a TRV, an applicant must show strong ties to their home country but he lives in Dubai and therefore has weak ties to Pakistan.

2. What does he do in Dubai? Is he currently employed? Full-time or part-time? How long has he worked there? If he has not been in the job for quite some time, then it is not likely to make him come back.

3. Did he show adequate funds? Investments? Does he own properties, businesses, etc? Owning property or businesses are strong factors to indicate someone will leave Canada.

Did you send him an invitation letter?

Yes, I did send him an invitation letter which was notarized as well. Also I did provide proof of my enrollment in the university at Canada.

He is currently full-time employed in Dubai. He has been working at this position since about six months. Is six months not an adequate period?
Also, his employment contract is for two years so he has to return for that.

He did show adequate funds. We were applying for a stay of only 15 days and the bank statement was for about 4600 canadian dollars. But he does not own any property or business over there in Dubai as he went there due to employment prospects.

What's your advice in this situation? What factors can we change while re-applying?

6 months at a new job is not sufficient indication that he will go back. May be if he works for a full year and saves more money it could help. With just $4600 and you being a student, if he were to stay longer than 15 days, that money will run out pretty quickly and he will likely need to work. The visa officer may have been concerned about that and him potentially working illegally, hence the part about his financial status.

SenoritaBella:

Thanks for your expert comments on this. We hope to take care of these issues when re-applying.

I'd like to ask one more thing: my husband applied for multiple-entry TRV. Can this also be a reason for having doubt on intention to return? Should we apply for single entry next time?

Waqar Ahmad:

Thanks for your comment. You people are doing a good job for guiding Pakistanis. I already messaged on that profile and will discuss it further over there.

Dear Peaceout,

I dont think so that multiple entry is the major reason of refusal. I think ur husband should change the mode of procedure for TRV.

Can you explain about your husband profile means job category and qualification???

Hi Waqar

Can you please explain what do you mean by mode of procedure for TRV? Does it mean that he should apply from Pakistan instead of UAE or anything else?
He has a bachelors degree and is designated as sales executive.
