Hey guys. I was just notified that my aunt in Lebanon was refused a TRV to Canada based on the fact that the Visa Officer misunderstood the wording of my letter. I am doing a fundraiser in my home town for Family Violence Prevention Month to raise money for a local safe-house, and the Visa Officer interpreted it as if my aunt had problems at home and was being abused.
I emailed them to clear things up and linked them to the websites with information on FVPM, and am hoping for a happy ending, but what would my next step be if the refusal isn't reversed? I understand there is no formal appeal process, so do I get a lawyer, do I get letters from the heads of the NGO I'm raising money for? Do I just re-submit the letter of invitation with clearer wording (even though, I think it was extremely clear already)?
Any opinions would be helpful.
