Hello

I applied for visitor visa on 08th Dec. 18 & decision (refusal) received on 14th Dec. 18.

VO is not satisfied;
1. based on family ties in Canada and in country of residence.
2. based on purpose of visit
3. personal assets and financial status

Re. family ties in India, well am not married, I have my parents and one brother living in India and am a post graduate student (distance learning), am employed with Public limited company (permanent employee-Finance Dept.). Ties in Canada, my cousin brother is studying in Vancouver, I mentioned I'll spend 5 days in Vancouver. so what could be done here for the ties in India? does it harm to mention that I'd stay with my couisn?

Re. purpose of visit; here is what I submitted with application

12th Feb. 2019 – Niagara Falls to Toronto; leave 17:12 – arrival 20:11..... CAD/..... INR
12th Feb. 2019 – Toronto to Vancouver; leave 22:00 – arrival 16th Feb. 2019 at 18:00 - .... CAD/.... INR
16th to 21st Feb. 2019 – Stay with my cousin brother ......name......(student, Passport No.......) at ...... cousin's address......Visit Gastown, Bowen Island, Stanley park (cycle around), English bay, Science world, Art galleries & Museums in Vancouver, Queen Elizabeth park, Capilano suspension bridge, Hot springs cove, watch movies and spend family time with cousin - ..... CAD/.... INR
22nd Feb. 2019 - Departure from Vancouver to New Delhi, by air - .... CAD/.... INR

so what went wrong? Should have mentioned every day's plan? something else?

Re. financial status; Net worth certificate I submitted documents of property and money in my parents name (around 8 million INR) and in my name (no property in my name, motorbikes and bank balances around 2 million INR).

I entered that I am taking 3600 CAD for this trip. Should it be in my savings account? or fixed deposits work too? e-term deposits, which can be withdrawn any time.

Thanks for your valuable input.

What evidence did you show for proof of employment? Have you previously traveled to other countries requiring visas such as the US or UK?

I attached last 6 months payslips, original job confirmation letter (co. letter head) & leave letter from employer. I did not attach agreement copy, neither initial job agreement nor the one I got after promotion a few years ago (15 pages in total) , because of file size. Perhaps that was a mistake, right?

Re. previous travel, I was married to a European and been there once on 1 year visa and have been to Asian countries. Perhaps VO did not question travel history because I was married to a foreigner and had 1 year visa and stayed there for 22 days only.

Could you help me understand/know better please?
1. What can be done here for the ties in India? submitting whole set of both initial and after promotion agreements would do? Marital status - divorced, does it play any role?
2. Purpose of visit - should have mentioned every day's plan? something else?
3. I entered that I am taking 3600 CAD for this trip. Should it be in my savings account? or fixed deposits work too? e-term deposits, which can be withdrawn any time.
4. Having visit invitation from my cousin (student) will do good for application?

Thank you Scylla

I would order your GCMS notes to see the detailed reasons behind the refusal. I would also recommend that you read through the discussions in the Visitors section of the forum. You'll find a lot of information there about similar cases.

Have requested information under "Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP)", did today.

I'll search through threads/discussions. Do you want to direct me to any particular one?

Thank you Scylla

My spouse and I just got TRV refusal letters this morning. Application date was 11-Dec-2018, from Dubai.

Reason:
You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:

Immigration status in country of residence
Family ties in Canada and in country of residence
Purpose of visit

We applied from Dubai, we are citizens of India currently on resident/work visa in the UAE. Both are families are in India. My spouse has a well paying permanent job in Dubai. We don't have family members in Canada.

Purpose of travel was tourism.

We furnished the following proofs:

Valid Resident Visas
Emirates ID
Apartment Tenancy contract
Utility bills
Vehicle ownership document
UAE driving license
Medical Insurance Cards
Handsome bank statements
Employment letter
Employment NOC on letterhead
Salary statement
Marriage certificate
Provisional Return Air tickets
Confirmed hotel booking

Travel history:
Spouse: Schengen (Europe)
Me: United Kingdom, Schengen (Europe)

What have we missed to submit? Please help!
