Good day to everyone.

My husband and I applied for TRV (through VFS) last Dec. 2019 for our exploratory visit (for about 9 days) to Morden Manitoba supposedly this February 2020. Unfortunately, we’ve got a refusal letter with three notes: Travel History, family ties in Canada and in the country of residence (we are from the Philippines but currently residing in Qatar), and personal assets and financial status.

We just want to understand any possible reason behind the following notes, if ever, so that we can prepare any required documents to avoid any mistakes again in our next application:

1. "Family ties in Canada" -- We do not have any relative or close friend in any province in Canada that's why we got an invitation from Morden Immigration program (which one of their requirement is no connection in the city or any province in Canada). What we've submitted is the invitation letter from Morden and mentioning the name/address/relation of the coordinator there in the IMM5257 form. We would like to know if this is a bad point?

2. How much is the proof of fund they really required for TRV application?

Also, do we really need to book a confirmed flight?

Please need your advise, recommendation, ideas or any additional information that will help us with our TRV application.

Thank you.

1. "Family ties in Canada"
Based on this forum I see that family ties in the country of residence is a common reason for refusal for Indians, Pakistanis and other nationals (working) in U.A.E. I know you are in Qatar, but the fact remains that it is not your home country. If granted a visa, you could easily leave Qatar and illegally migrate to Canada (even if illegal migration is not what you intended to do). Visa officers are strict as some Pinoys and other nationalities broke immigration rules and are illegally staying in Canada.

I think this shows that you really plan to move to Canada. You can go to Canada without an invitation. You could have mentioned that you are going there for tourism purpose. But the question is, have you travelled to other countries? As travel history was part of your refusal.
2. How much is the proof of fund they really required for TRV application?
No one really knows. Some have declare more than CAD 10,000 and still get denied. The thing is, the visa officers checks your account and sees to it that the planned trip to Canada is not a waste of money or the trip would not burn your savings.
Also, do we really need to book a confirmed flight?
No. It is not advised to purchase a ticket. You can get an itinerary from Expedia (or other sites) or by simple getting a screen shot of the planned travel dates from the airline of your choice.

Before you apply, do address the reasons for rejection. Example for personal assets and financial status, maybe you need enough money to satisfy the visa officers.

Hello @kat3onah ,
I have applied Visit Visa in 2014 and refused.
Again, I have applied Visa in 2017 and again refused. In both refusals, the did mentioned the below;

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary
resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit and Travel history
.

After first Refusal, I applied US visa and got approval which was valid till Dec 2019. I have travelled to US in 2014 and 2015.
I also got Visa for UK in 2016 ( 6 months and with multiple entries)

In December 2019, I again applied US Visa after expiration of the first one but even they did not approved. The reasons what I understood were "I forgot my passport to bring with me and went back to get my passport and got late. However, they accept to go for interview and during waiting for my turn there, I just laugh about one answer of another guy who was with VO and VO looked at me. Unfortunately, he interviewed me as well and refused.

I did not travel much in 2019 due to Job circumstances. but now planning to travel in April for 12 days to Canada as my son have summer break and he wants to go to kids dream places etc.

Now, I am again going to submit my TRV application for Canada, and need experts advise about what kind of documents I need to submit? What I am thinking are property papers which are on my name, My assets in Qatar, like Car, rented apartment contract, all my furniture including all appliances as I have all receipts etc. These all details will be mentioned with supporting docs in application letter.

I am also living in Qatar since 2008

Experts, Please share your experiences and kindly advise...… Thanks in advance.

If you apply online just hover the mouse on the ? icon to see all the documents you can attach. It is mentioned to provide as many as you can.
Do not forget to mention all the refusals you had with US and Canada as it is important to be honest. Some people who lie gets busted and easily gets rejected.
I saw from your previous post that you are Pakistani, the drawback is you are not living in your home country which makes your ties questionable. Another thing is, some of your countrymen violated immigration rules that is why it is hard for you guys to get a visa to Canada even if you are valid tourists. I say this because I see threads in this forum that even the Pakistani with good profile gets rejected.
What is your reason to go to Canada? There is a lot of wonderful places/countries to go to. I fear that the 3rd time you try, the more IRCC will think that you really need to go there and can just result to a refusal.

Actually, I did not provide the response of first refusal in second submission as I was thinking I have valid US visa and even I traveled there two times and then UK , so there will be no problem of getting visa but was refused. This time I will prepare proper response to the refusal points and will attach my property documents along with my payslips , my car and rented apartment contract etc which I am paying monthly though post dated cheques.
The purpose of travel is tourism,
I do agree with your statement that in my home country there are bundle of beautiful tourist spots but I am living out of my home country since 2006 and I don’t have much family friends there to go with them. However, I do have college friends in Canada and I can see them during my visit if find suitable time. Also, I do have a permanent job here since 2013 with one of the top companies in the world and why Do I will try to stay in Canada and lose my job. Even, I know one of my friends is struggling for job in Canada although he has PR.
The main reason is what you said that some genuine visitors are getting effected due to people who try to cheat and staying there illegally.

Long story short , if you have any suggestion in preparing cover letter , kindly guide .
Thanks

Oh, congrats! For us we are still waiting. Probably our occupation is not in demand at the moment. Maybe they are prioritizing the skilled occupation.

How's the interview?
