Hello Guys, need some urgent help here..

My sister recently applied for tourist visa to Canada from India and got refused. reason for rejections are; purpose of visit, financial assets and travel history.

For purpose of visit we drafted a very clear letter saying she is coming here only for one month and got notarized affidavit as well to convince them. for financial assets we showed fixed deposits, savings account and my bank balance. for travel history we mentioned that she has never traveled outside of India so there was no travel history.

I am not sure where we lack in our application. two reasons which I am thinking are: no travel history outside of country or currently now working. she has worked in the past but at the time of application she was unemployed.

Please advise, should we apply again with more explanation or should we wait a few months and then apply or what?

I really want her to visit me in Canada and want to make this work. any advise/suggestion helps.

Thanks :(

Did your sister show her own bank balance / financial assets? That's something CIC typically wants to see.

Yes - her lack of travel is certainly a negative. It would have been better if she had traveled to countries requiring visas in the past. However there's really nothing you can do about this.

Yes - being unemployed is likely a problem because this shows even fewer ties to her home country. I would wait until she has a job and has been working for a few months (at least 6) before applying again.

Thanks Scylla,

Yes she showed here own bank balance, her personal account and savings. property valuation was basically not on her name so I guess that added no value?

Yes you are right, her lack of travel will certainly remain the same

I also attached booked and confirmed tickets with the application to convince them :(

Correct - property valuation not in her name has no value. She would need to be the owner for it to make a difference.

I think having a stable and permanent job is pretty important given her lack of other ties. Good luck.

One more thing, would it help if we attach her job offer letter with joining date to the application and show that she is going to start a new job after she comes back. And then we can also mention that in purpose of trip.

Do you think that will increase her chances?

Well, no, she should have a job and work there FOR AWHILE before she takes a vacation.
And would 6 months suffice for enough work before she takes vacation for tourist visa?

If it is possible to gt a vacation after 6 months of work...
Also do not forget other circumstances. For ex, how good is that job that is worth to go back after vacation ? A vacation is a vacation, so it should be 2-4 weeks and not 2 months etc.
