TRV processing time for Pakistanis in USA

I applied for TRV at Canadian consulate in NYC 2 weeks ago. They told me that my case is pending clearance from Ottawa. Does anyone knows how long they are taking to get clearance back for Pakistanis who applied in USA?

I applied in Detroit by mail. My application has already taken 34 days since it reached. I received a response saying nationals of some countries, including Pakistan, are subject to mandatory wait period in addition to normal processing time. They did not specify however, how long the mandatory wait period will be. I am still waiting.

They show 14 days, plus an additional 10 days if you are from 1 of the 10 countries that require additional security screening. (Pakistan is one)

Usually this process takes 4 weeks for Pakistanis.

I don't know about NYC consulate, but I applied in Detroit consulate by mail. It's been 40 days and I haven't got my passport back.

I received my visa and passport after 41 days.
Date application reached Detroit Consulate: June 13, 2012
Date passport received with visa stamped: July 24, 2012
Since I am from Pakistan, my application was also subject to 10 days of mandatory wait period in addition to the normal processing time of 30 days.
The Consulate does not provide any meaningful response by email within the normal processing time or mandatory wait period. All you get is a generic response. I was notified by email on the day my visa was approved in response to my inquiry.
