Wait, reading this again - the consultant you talked to was VanHack's consultant?

Are they licensed to be a consultant in Canada? There is no evidence of this on their website. I did a search of the ICCRC registry and found no one working for VanHack who is an ICCRC licensed consultant. If you know the consultant's name, you can check here: https://iccrc-crcic.ca/find-a-professional/

I know their website says they have a "team of visa consultants" but if they're not registered and licensed, they may be doing all kinds of incorrect things that may lead to a finding of misrepresentation purely through them not knowing it was wrong.

Yes, talked to VanHack's consultant.

They are registered under their own company, and consult for VanHack as well.

I could find their details on the site you provided.

Seems everyone invited to Calgary was a woman......beginning to think Bryanna May be correct and you may have been scammed by the consultant to Vanhack. Dodgy letter, discrepancies on the website.......this:

I don't really think there's any scamming going on here. Either CIC incorrectly "verified" the letter or whomever they spoke to at VanHack messed up big time.

Have you asked your contacts at VanHack how CIC verified the invitation letter? Ask the CEO.
I did. He didn't receive any email or phone enquiry. And since I got the PFL without any direct email contacts or officer details, we had to send in the resolution within the stipulated time of 10 days.

While, the consultant has suggested to wait for few more days for a resolution. Before, planning the next course of action.

Do you have any direct contacts in VanHack who can confirm whether or not IRCC called to verify the invitation letter? Not the consultant who is consulting for VanHack

Hi Guys,

So, I got a response on the TRV application with a refusal stating:

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee."

Should this be considered as a ban or having a negative impact on my PR?

Quite disappointed. But, I also haven't committed any misrepresentation so I don't know. I think I might as well try for other opportunities considering how much of a trouble it has been with the overall process.

I had also been reading conditions of refusals for dual intent TRV's here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/dual-intent-applicants.html

Considering my original dates for the event have already passed while the TRV was being processed, does this refusal make sense? or should I just give up hope on the PR as well?

Any views?

Thanks!
