i applied and submitted Dec 2020 that was my first application, until now wala parin thats why i decided to re apply. but i have been following some threads here and some really got their PPRs in two weeks. do you guys know who conducts background checks? is it visa officers from Manila or are they based in Canada?
sa iba po may email, sa iba wala. in my case, accidentally ko lang nalaman pag bukas ko ng portal yung status "application/profile updated" sya. then pagbukas ko ng start na yung eligibility then after that bumalik na sa "submitted" yung status.
Upfront po ba med nila? Or request ng cic?

Yes, submitted dec 2, ppr dec 14 purely tourism. No relatives or friends in canada.
They haven't done medical exams yet. Nirerequire na ba nila magmedical pag regular trv kasi the reason I went for reg trv is for them not to go for medical exams na para hnd na sila magbyahe ulit going to manila (we're from up north)? Both my parents are senior din. Do you think I should reapply via portal? Did you withdraw previous application in gckey?
Hindi ko sure if lahat ng seniot require mag med,regular trv lng din apply ko for my mom,ang nagtaka ako bakit nag request sila ng med, and ang available sa iom feb pa kaya sa bagio ako nag paschedule dahil need nya mag med before jan10.
Hindi namin winithraw ang 1st application sa gckey, nag asked lng ako sa agent if posible mag resubmit kmi ,and yon nga sa portal na nya pinasa ang 2nd app.
