TRV past processing times

Hi,

I applied online through GCKey for my step daughter's TRV on November 10th, 2022 - 130 days ago in Lima, Peru (she lives there with her mother). We have not received any updates at all since then. Processing time as of right now is 123 days, so we are a bit past that.

I see some people withdraw old applications and re-submit them. How long should I usually wait until I consider this route? I have sent a webform but have not heard back from them yet (it did say it could take up to 15 days for their reply). Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I just wanted to give an update on my original post in case someone is in a similar situation (If it is not appropriate to bump this up for an update, please feel free to delete).

Last week, as a last resort and after feeling pretty hopeless, I contacted my MP office and by the end of the week (last Friday) I got an update from them telling me that they had been able to contact IRCC about my step daughters' case and that they could confirm it was indeed in progress, and past processing time. She also added that she mentioned this was a family reunification case and that the IRCC agent empathized with our case and told her that she was going to send a letter directly to the Lima office to inquire about the delay. I was pretty hesitant about the latter statement, really just thought she added that part to make me feel better. Today, less than a week after that email, we got a TRV approval and passport request.

So while I agree that MP office members can't do much to speed up the process, I absolutely believe that this was NOT a coincidence and that the MPs inquiry did prompt them to at least take a look at the case. Just my two cents (I am clearly not an immigration expert and I am just giving my opinion).

Waiting to see someone you love and miss is absolutely heartbreaking, so I just wanted to share my story in case someone is in the same shoes.
