Maybe there were checks, but on the application, it still says background checks not applicable.

Well it doesn't matter now anyways since the visa has been approved . Congrats again!

Did they stamp the visa on your passport? or you have to go again to collect your passport?

Yeah I was because I was not able to understand why they took so long. But I am happy. Thank you so much for help, really appreciate it.

Officer said I can collect it through VFS.

Anyone here still waiting that applied in November from India?? I applied November 15th 2017. It has now been 154 days and I am getting really frustrated.

It seems people who have been waiting long are getting some response, even if it is an interview request. I have exhausted all options of finding out what is happening with my application, called IRCC automated message ( still the same ), MP says its still in security checks, the Immigration Minister responded to my email with a long response of how great Canadian immigration officers are ( LOL) and NDVO themselves sent me an automated message indicating "still processing".
