Ahhh if this is the case i.e. your application status is going through security/background checks then I would NOT send the CSE after a couple of weeks.

IRCC will take as long as they need to complete your security/background checks by replying on external agencies/third party sources. You cannot speed up this process. And, a CSE will not make a difference
Sorry @kira260 I'm under background check, not security, my question was what is the difference between both of them and how I can know if my background check is in security check or normal check

Same difference vis-a-vis the status/delay in processing. You won't be given any details about the type or extent of investigations.

It's pointless to contact IRCC to request for an expedited decision until this status update changes to 'Completed'

@Bryanna Which may take forever till they send completed on my status and why did you mean by (Their application specifications are different from yours) whats the difference?

Yup and its an inland case
I'm really sorry to hear that, hope God will give you the strength to bear this long processing time and you will get your approval soon.
When did you submit your application? and from which country? was it online or paper?

Your guess is as good as mine. There's no idea about the type of checks that IRCC conducts. These checks could vary depending on the nationality, the individual circumstances, travel and residence history, etc of the applicant.

My statement was in response to you comparing your processing time to that of kira20 and MrMoody90

So I should understand my processing time is less or more than @kira260 and @Mrmoody90 based in your experience?

Please share us the process, as I am going to apply visitor visa to Canada for my mother/

Very happy for you and wish you all the best!

However, for those who have been waiting months and months for a decision, this is another example of how Canadian immigration is not uniform and not fair in anyway. Will know more once you provide us with which documents you provided, but it's safe to say it's probably not as many as we have provided to show proof of everything since you have mentioned you didn't provide any financial documents.

You are really lucky :)
