Hi,
Ihave a british Convention Travel Document
I am a housewife living with my family in the UK. We get state benefits/income support. We have been saving up and now have enough money to visit canada for my brother's wedding.

I am SO SO worried that I will get refused a visa. and i will be left behind here alone, whilst my husband and kids go.
-I have a british Convention Travel document-so Im not exempt from a visa, I need to get one.

PLEASEEEE can some1 help me and tell me my chances?
I dont have a job, i am dependant on my husband. My fam in canada will look after me when im there.

Apart from the compulsory documents, I am going to send:
-evidence of my sons graduation which is soon after i return
-my younger kids school admission
-a letter from my hospital confirming an appointment i need to attend
-council tax/bienefits evidence
-marriage certificate
-wedding invitation cards
-letter from my brother addressed to the embassy stating he will look after my expenses when i am there
-a letter from myself stating my genuine intentionon returning

btw the stay will only be about 3 weeks

what else??
I have a bank account with next to no money..however i dont work my husband is in charge of money

If he puts like £2000 into my account in one go, can i use that as proof of funds?

which other documents should I submit along? I have been to canada before on a tourist visa, however I no longer have the old travel document to prove it! Can the embassy check themselves?

The list of evidence looks good, shows your ties to the UK. I'm sure you will be flying so you'll have return tickets when you enter Canada. I read a little about convention travel document.. have you contacted the embassy? everything I have read says this document is just as good as a passport and is accepted in most countries Canada issues them so it would make sense that they accept them but it's best to contact the Canadian embassy to double check.

Except in exceptional circumstances, you cannot use a Home Office convention travel document to travel to your country of origin, or the country from which you sought asylum. It will normally be valid for travel to all other countries.

Travelling abroad using a convention travel document

When you have obtained your convention travel document, you may also need to obtain a visa before you enter some countries. Before making any travel arrangements, you should ask at the embassy of the country or countries you wish to travel to.

If you already have a convention travel document, it may say on page 30 that you do not need a visa for visits of three months or less to a number of listed countries. As the list of countries changes from time to time, you should ask at the embassy of the country or countries you wish to travel to before making any travel arrangements.
