TRV not approved yet. Have work permit and need to leave Canada

Hello. I have a valid work permit until September 2025 with my Peruvian passport however my TRV is expired and I’m currently on the process for a new one. It was my mistake for starting it late but I need to leave Canada in 3 weeks. Given that I might not get it by that time, is it possible I return to Canada on an ETA (with my Spanish passport) as a tourist and wait for its approval ( at my Canadian residence) to continue working ?I can’t really find information about this exact issue. I’m asking for a friend. Thank you for your time.

You can try but not guaranteed especially if your WP is expired since what you are describing is not visiting. May depend on timeline of your PR application.
