Hey folks,
I was on pgwp which got expired. I have valid v-1 (multiple) TRV stamp on my passport till 2029.i have few concerns if someone can advice me :
  1. Is TRV same as visitor visa. I have to leave canada because my status is expired and don’t have any option to restore. Can i enter as visitor in canada with multiple entry visa?
  2. I am married to a PR in canada so my purpose of travel is to meet and spend some time with my spouse.

You can certainly use the TRV to return to Canada. Make sure you have a return ticket. Note that whether you are allowed back into Canada and for how long is always up to CBSA. If you have been in Canada for a while without status then you may want to consider remaining outside of Canada for a bit before returning and also keep your first visit to Canada relatively short.

Yes, i will buying my return ticket for sure. Currently i am not out of status , i am on 90 days restoration period which I received on dec,2024 and i will leave canada before 90 days, so i think thats isn’t counted as out of status and i am Not even working illegally.
I am also living with my spouse and have joint accounts and car insurance and my spouse will be paying for my travel expenses. Will that help while re entry.

You are out of status. Being on the 90 day restoration does not give you valid status in Canada.

Thanks for your replies
So from your info. I should apply for a visitor record now? So that I could be a bit of safe side

You would still be out of status. Your visa expired or an extension was refused on Dec 24, is that correct?

Yes my work permit extension was refused.
so if i would explain cbsa officer about staying for few days after refusal with my spouse and then i left canada voluntarily and
Then after a month i would be able to return as visitor with valid trv to stay more with spouse because she joined her studies and work along. So she needs help in prepping food and other household stuff.

Your reason for visit implies you are planning on living in Canada so yes that could be an issue. Why is your spouse not sponsoring you?

I had already applied for inland spousal sponsorship but haven’t got any update yet.
If you applied for inland, and if you leave, your application will be cancelled.

I missed what happened. Why didn't you apply to restore as a visitor? Inland can actually stay without status and wait for PR approval if you are OK with not working and not having health coverage.
