Hi All,
I've recently posted a request for any additional advice for a TRV being refused twice to Canada and realize there is no hope for this getting approved again.

So, basically my only chances are that I move out of Canada to live my boyfriend abroad for 1 year and then apply for a PR for him to come to Canada (since we would then qualify as commonlaw). Pretty frustrating that my own country is driving me out of Canada to be with my man....

Anyways, any advice on this; basically what I know is that my only choice is to move and live with him for 1 year if I want to be with him, but my question is ... once we qualify as commonlaw is it true that applying for a PR would then tak approx 1-2 years to process?

I am astonished that this is the case, so if anyone can shed light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated.

You could get married and then apply right away for PR. He would need to do a medical first though.
