Dear all,

I recently got married in Bangladesh and I have since returned to Canada and submitted my sponsorship application for my wife. However, the processing time is 26 months! This is a ridiculously long time. She has a career that will be in the verge of being ruined but most importantly the first few years is when we get to have fun as new couples. And I am afraid we will lose this opportunity to enjoy each other in these precious time.

Is it entirely possible to invite her to visit Canada on a temporary resident visa while she is waiting for her PR? From what I read so far, it is very difficult. But, is there any hope?

There is some hope - but likely very little.

Go ahead and apply for the TRV. Sometimes people are approved. Try to provide as much evidence as possible to prove your wife has strong ties to her home country and won't overstay her visa.

Hi all. Hope that you are doing well.

I have one small query regarding Spouse open work permit application submission through online way.

My wife has also got the visitor visa and she is coming with me to Canada .After arriving there, i am planning to apply open work permit for my wife. For this purpose, what is the list of documents we have to upload for the open work permit application submission

From Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) official page, i came to know that the following 4 docs need to upload while applying for open work permit in canada

1.IMM 5710 application
2.Spouse r passport
3.Merriage certificate
4.Spouse r digital pic

But my concern is, from some other sites and sources i came to know that with the above four docs, we have to submit my study permit paper, letter from university and also financial bank statements which will show we have 10000+ 4000 CAD. But these papers has already been shown by us while we have applied for the visitor visa application. And also in online application sitre, there is no option to upload this papers.

It will be helpful for me if you help me with any concrete information regarding the above issue as it will help me to take preparayion in advance.

Thanks and Regards

Thank you for very much for your prompt response. I will try to prove those ties, however she does not work and she lives with her parents. She recently finished her MBBS, which is an undergraduate degree in medicine. I suppose she could find work there in order to establish strong ties to back home. These evidence of strong ties, do you mention them in the invitation letter or do you provide additinal documents? Because, the forms don't have much room to detail this information.
