Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this post.

I am wondering if someone experienced can advise me on how to build a strong case for bringing my wife over to Canada.

My wife's profile:
She graduated with an MSc. from a UK institution (in October 2017) before returning to India.
She intends to do her PhD in the UK, starting in 2019. And to attend her scholarship interview, she will need to return to India after she spends some time with me in Canada.
She does not hold a job at the moment, nor does she have funds/savings in her name.
She stays with her parents.
Her visitor's visa to Canada was rejected when she wanted to visit me (before we were married)

My profile:
I graduated from a Canadian institution a few days ago (MSc.) and I was offered a full time position as a Research assistant (Qualifies as NOC skill level A) - this job starts on 1st September 2018.
I have some savings - about $4000.
I seek to bring my spouse into Canada (from India) and I want her to stay with me for a year. With this in mind, I have the following questions:

1. Which is the best (fastest and reliable) route to bring her to Canada?
(a) Apply for TRV (Visitor visa) > Apply for SOWP from within Canada.
(b) Apply directly for SOWP from India.

2. What qualifies as proof of family ties back home?

3. What proof of funds can I provide to show that both of us can live in Canada?

There is no fast and reliable way.

IMO, a TRV application won't work for many reasons:
You + she has zero ties to India and to the UK + zero finances + no travel history (her stay in the UK was long-term and doesn't count as travel history). etc.

Her PhD is not a tie to return to India/the UK because she intends to start the program next year + she has not been admitted as yet + she has not been granted the scholarship as yet.

IMO, it would be best to apply for a SOWP from India.

2. What qualifies as proof of family ties back home?
After marriage, her family ties are the strongest to you. Her family ties to her parents/siblings don't count from a visa perspective.

3. What proof of funds can I provide to show that both of us can live in Canada?
Both of you are currently financially very weak. You must start working + you need to submit at least three pay stubs for her SOWP application. Also, it would be best if she applies after you have saved up reasonable finances to support her stay
