Hi,

I am applying for TRV for my Parents. They both had valid visas till expiry dates of passports (2022). They both had traveled separately in the past & had returned after 2-3 months for each visit. I have few queries based on latest requirements.

  1. All three of us (me & my parents) have approx 15k in our bank accounts each. How much duration should we mention for visit?
  2. For question regarding, who will pay for the visit - should I say that I will sponsor them, or is it ok if I say that I will arrange for stay & expenses here and they will pay for tickets etc?
  3. They will likely stay for 1.5-2 months. Even if we mention shorter duration, will visa issued be for minimum validity of 6 months?
  4. Is it fine requesting for longer duration visas in covering letter (biometric for my father is valid for 4 years & I will be applying for him first)?
  5. Is it better to apply for them together or should I apply for them separately? Biometrics for my father is valid till 2029. While it is no longer valid for my mother, so she will have to go for biometrics as well.
  6. Its not confirmed yet if they will be traveling together or will come separately. For the question asking if they will be travelling together, what should I mention in form?
  7. I am filling up their forms online from Canada & they will be sending scanned documents to me for submission. For question regarding if someone is helping in filling form, if I mention that I am helping them, will it negatively impact the application?
  8. It seems providing details of properties helps in approvals. They both have 3-4 shared apartments. However, registration documents are in regional language.
    • Do we need to get entire document for each property translated, or is it sufficient to translate only couple of pages which show names & value of those properties?
    • Should we submit documents for all the properties, or showing couple of them is sufficient?
    • Is there any easier way to provide details of these properties, like an affidavit or notarized summary showing details of properties? I am trying to keep number of pages as less as possible.
Any other suggestions or precautions? Thank you in advance.

1) Follow the similar number of days they mentioned in their previous application.
2) Follow what they said in the previous application
3) So did they requested a longer duration in the previous application?
4) Was it fine in the previous application?
5) What was their experience in the previous application? Did they apply separately or together?
6) Did they mentioned in their previous application?
7) No, you say you are their non-paid representative.
8) 3-4 jointly owned apartments? You can always go to a certified translator or notary public in Canada and translate them. What did you do last time (5-6 years ago)? If I were you, I would do something similar again this time.

Thanks for your response. It was very straightforward back then, when I had applied for visas for them. I had not included property documents, had just provided bank statements & visas used to be issued till expiry date of passport by default. I am very tensed now considering news of higher amount of rejections & change in rule regarding duration of visas. I hope officials will consider the fact that they had not stayed for very long periods & had returned back after couple of months of stay.
