TRV FOR myself (carrying an open working permit)

Hello,

I am here looking for help on my temporary residence visa for re-entering Canada once I go on my vacation back to China. Currently I am still in Canada and trying to apply for it online. I have already doublechecked the online questionnaire i filled in were proper. however the page i am on now, it requests me to submit a document named (Application for Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada (IMM5257)) i wonder shouldnt get one made inside of Canada instead of one out of Canada?

I did noticed that there was a question asking which country I am currently in and I chose Canada. Please help if anyone knows what i did wrong.

Hi,

Yes you are required to fill and submit 5257 form since you are applying for VISA inside Canada. Please read this checklist for INSIDE CANADA:

I had the same question when I filed my TRV application for which I called CIC and they said that this application form is correct. I told the person that it says Outside of Canada although I am applying from within Canada and he replied it will show the same name. Because, even though you are applying from within Canada and it will be processed inside Canada but, you are still considered as outside of Canada.

And I went on to submit my application. So I guess there should not be any problem. Good luck!

Guys,

Since you are applied VISA inside Canada and i have also submitted paper application recently for same TRV inside Canada,

I have a question for you. How long does it take to process in OTTAWA? Processing Times that are mentioned in CIC site is 16days/14days. Would it take that longer or will it get done in between?

Please share if any details and keep on posting if any updates on your side.
