Pre-Assessed..
Hello all,

I applied for TRV this year but got rejection and they have wrong information in my records such as visiting USA for six months in 2015 whereas I left USA after my graduation in 2014 and after that I have not visited it.

Now, I am thinking to do a certificate course which is less than 6 months and according to CIC - a study permit is not required for that.

1) I would like to know whether anyone has applied for TRV to study for 6 or less than 6 months in Canada?
2) Will be there any interview for such a case?
3) What should I put in the cover letter? (Last time I put tourism as purpose and my cousin sent me an invitation letter as well. Will I need any invitation letter from my cousin again or letter from an education institute will be enough?)
4) Should I point out their mistakes on my records politely in my cover letter?
5) Is medical exam required or not?

Any inputs will be appreciated. TIA.

Depends on the reasons for the first refusal as not sure a 6 month visit to the US would be the sole reason unless they think you were there illegally .

Hi,

Thanks for your input.

I did not visit the USA at all in that year so being there legally or illegally is out of question. I was on student visa and provided all the papers which shows the legal status to be in USA and that was the year before. They clearly have wrong information on my records now. They mentioned that since I visited USA for six months therefore it makes me a kind of visitor who will not leave Canada. They also gave me other reasons such as not having enough fund for my travelling, however, my bank statement can prove it wrong. I strongly believe that they did not even look at my bank statement or cover letter. Because, my cover letter highlighted my travel history, financial and family information with proofs.

Its clear that they refused it wrongfully, just like many applicants from India would agree with me that applicants who want to visit Canada and come back and have provided all the papers.

Anyways, now I feel discouraged to apply second time for even visitor visa, giving that they are refusing TRV applications alot.

Thanks.

I am indonesian passport holder studying in a university in singapore. I am also applying for trv in singapore for a university exchange programme in canada which will last about 4.5 months. Applied on 24th June and now news yet until now :(

I don't think there will be any interview for this case. In my cover letter, I stated that my main purpose is to study for 4.5 months and few days of tourism before and after the programme. I also attached the acceptance letter from the canadian university as well as letter from my singapore university to state that I am still in the middle of my undergraduate study and will have to come back to singapore to finish my study after the programme. Medical exam is not required as far as I know, but maybe required for some nationalities? not too sure though..
