TRV for a Peruvian to visit Canada

My girlfriend is Cuban but she is a Peruvian Citizen, who has been living in Peru for 11 years. She has both Cuban and Peruvian passports and a 9 year old son.

What do you think her chances are of getting a TRV to visit me in Canada? She only has a part time job, but she needs to return to Peru to care for her son. Also she doesn't speak English, and she doesn't have family here.

It is not about her, it is about what both of you can prove. It doesn't matter if she has a job or not as long as there is a way of proving that her expenses will be covered for the time being requested. Speaking English is nowhere in the application paperwork, it doesn't matter.

So it sounds like all she has going for her is the fact that I can afford to support her and that she has a child to return to in Peru.

Well not even that, look in the internet about immigrants leaving children (babies) behind for going illegally to other countries.

What counts is that you are a person with no illegal background, that you have a believable reason to visit Canada and a way to afford your living expenses while in the country. All the evidence you can provide to prove those points is what raises your chances of getting a VISA, everything else really is just noise.
