TRV expiring soon but valid post graduate work permit..

Hi,

My trv is going to expire in the start of august, however, I do have my valid three years post graduate work permit valid till 2015..I was reading CICs website and it says that applicants must submit their trv application to ottawa cpp...I dont plan to leave Canada anytime soon, So is it a requirement for me to apply for a new trv or I can maintain my legal status in Canada with my PGWP?

Yes, you can maintain your status with a valid post-graduate work permit. The TRV is required if you plan to travel and re-enter Canada.

But i would suggest apply for TRV and keep as it will be valid till WP date !!!!

Nice!!! Is it easy to get TRV, is it ok if I am just working as cashier in a normal mcdonalds or something?.....And can you tell me if it is easy to apply for US visa from Canada...And do the US officials also look at the type of job you are doing or they just look if you are working or not..

Getting a TRV when inside Canada is relatively straight forward provided you meet eligibility requirements. You will need a letter from your employer confirming your employment.

The US officials look at similar things like the Canada officials - you will have to show strong ties to Canada(e.g. employment) and that you will not overstay in the US, proof of adequate funds for your trip, travel itenerary(places you will visit, etc) etc.

If I work as a cashier in a restaurant would it be a downside for me to get a US visit visa...???????
