You're probably right. Considering the number of asylum seekers from Zimbabwe, this is likely the unstated reason why you were refused.

Your previous travel/stay in Australia was for work reasons. You don't have a history of tourism/sightseeing to other visa-required countries. You have previously traveled to countries that are liberal in issuing tourist visas. Also, you don't have family/friends in Canada, Basically, it would not seem like you're visiting for sightseeing

But how can you go on vacation just by yourself and leaving the whole family back at home. You could have genuine reasons but it looks like a red flag.

My point is next time try to apply for yourself and your wife if it is just for tourism reasons. It’s hard to believe that a father and husband would leave his family in Zimbabwe with all the violence going on to go to Canada and have a good time. You said you have 92k in your account which is enough for you to sponsor your whole family for a vacation so why are not? That’s the question any Visa Officer would ask. You might have all the requirements but I see the tourism reason by yourself as a red flag.
