hi..i just got my passport back today and it's denied but i don't see any stamped of trv denied in my passport this time..i had one but it was on last 0ct.5,2010 when i applied the first time..the reason is regulation 179 which says that ..you have not satisfied me that you will leave canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident..i am a 60 yrs old and a permanent resident here in the middle east for almost 20 yrs..the following are the box that were checked..
1)travel history..
i was granted a single entry last june 2011 but i was able to visit vancouver not until oct.28 and i stayed with a family friend for 52 days.
2)purpose of visit
i wrote tourism for a week cause i was planning to go to boston and visit my neice and together we will visit vancouver
3)your personal assets and financial status
i have a 2 pieces
of land in my country and 5,000usd in my personal account but my husband who's working in the airlines will be the one to finance my trip..
i don't quite understand why i was denied when i submitted the same documents that i submitted before but only my bank statement was only a print out and it shows how much money i got but it doesn't show the name of the bank..i never thought that it would affect my application..the reason why i wasn't able to submit the formal bank statementcause it would take 2 months to request for it as i'm here in the middle east and my bank is in my country..i know it's stupidity on my part.. :(
i'll be leaving next week to visit my family..my question is could i apply again in the phils next month with the same supporting documents from the middle east but with the official statement of account and instead of tourism i will write the name of our family friend..i have an invitation letter but it was written last year but i didn't use it..could i use it now?any advice would be greatly appreciated..thank you..

Get a new invitation letter and re-apply from your home country and also use the correct bank statement(the need to see the original). That should work. I don't see any other reason for them denying the visa since you have been to canada before.

Hope it works out for you. Good luck

thank you shaznaz75 for the input..i guess i will just have to include the invitation letter but the problem is our family friend is a 78 yr.old male..thats why the first time i came over i was questioned in the port of entry because the v.o.suspected that i will stay illegally but i said it won't be the case cause i have to be monitored by my doctor in my home country every 3 months for cancer recurrence..and thats the main reason why i have to go back.all i want is to travel while i still can..

I am glad you are enjoying travel and making each day count as you beat cancer. I agree with the previous poster that you need to include an original, up to date, bank statement showing the account activity as a one day statement does not tell the VO what they need to know. In your cover letter mention your previous travel history in and out of Canada and attach a document regarding your medical check ups, on letterhead, signed by your doctor. Good luck and all the best.
