TRV CPP Ottawa for visitors?

Hello,

I hope someone can confirm something for me. I had a Saudi student (on a study permit) submit TRV applications online for himself and wife and son (who are both on visitor records). His passport came back with the new TRV, but theirs were returned. I contacted the Canadian visa office in New York and they said they need to go in person to NY to submit TRV applications and provide biometrics. I'm thinking something must be wrong. How can the wife and son get new TRVs without leaving Canada? They have until 2017 on their visitor records.

Visitors are not eligible for TRVs inside Canada. They must apply abroad.

It says i can extend their visitor's visa and also gave a code to begin. However, it did not state how i will go about the visitor record for them.

Is it same form "extend my stay" that i will fill and write a letter requesting for their visitor's records.

Will i have to make same or different application for both of them as i will be applying with their father's Mycic account?

Do i also need a visitor's record considering the fact that i have applied for Open work permit already?

It states quite clearly you can only apply to extend your visitor STATUS. Please follow the instructions.

For this we need more info on your current status, dates on what was your status, when did you apply for OWP and anything else that is relevant.

We all came in April 2nd on visitor's visa but CSBA didn't stamp our passport but now i know we can't stay longer than 6 months at a stretch. So our 6 months will expire October 2nd (Correct me if i am wrong pls).

Will i have to make different application for my 2 kids under their father Mycic account since they are still minors. Or one application will suffice with a written letter and all supporting documents attached?

Will i need the visitor's record too? Asking because i have already submitted my open work permit application last month -April 28th?

When you do the online application, it will ask you if you want to apply for a family member and make sure to say yes, add the family member, and continue. You will need to fill the form and attach the passport for each family member.
