TRV Approved with Outland Spousal Application Pending

Please I need help on what to do?


I applied for TRV in September but when no response was coming forth, went ahead to apply for Family Class Outland in October.

I just got approval for TRV. I was initially planning to apply for Spousal Inland and Work Permit but now I have applied for Outland

I don’t want to travel to Canada with no hope of applying for Work permit


Please what should I do?

You can only apply for an OWP if you withdraw your outland application and send in an inland application with OWP. It is taking around 6 months to get the OWP. You also may not qualify for healthcare coverage while waiting for your OWP/working depending on the province so that may be a consideration. You can technically apply for a closed WP if you are able to find an employer willing to go through the time and expense of LMIA and WP. It is a long process as well so you may end up securing PR before getting a WP. If you have rare advanced skills you may be considered under the GSS program which has much faster processing. What type of work do you do?

I too am now going ahead with PR application since there has been no response on my spouse's visitor visa. Can you tell me if you received the approval on the TRV after getting the AOR on the outland application?

I applied visitor visa through New portal on 16 june , biometrics already done. No response since then

I applied on the 10th of Oct on new portal. There are many who have applied in Sep and are still waiting for an update. So you are still behind in queue. But I wish you luck. You never know how soon u might get it.

I got the approval 26 days after applying for Outland application but waited for about 7 weeks after applying for TRV

Oh Okay... but any specific reason for the 7 week wait? I've completed 6 weeks of wait on the TRV and done with 28 business days

Don’t know whether web development will qualify for GSS. You’ll need to do more research but IRCC is the one who decides in the end who qualifies for GSS. In most cases the employer’s lawyer is the one helping you to apply for the WP. It tends to be non-entry level highly skilled jobs where there is well known skill shortage Canada.

You can’t compare processing times. Each case will have it’s own processing time.

The person got TRV approved after applying for Spousal Outland and planning to travel immediately but need to clarify if he can do his medical in Canada once the medical request is made?
