TRV approved in India, Is stamping in USA .... 30 days past deadline

Hi all,

I had applied for my father's visitor visa on 6, October 2021 and got approval on Feb 14, 2022 for passport submission in New Delhi VAC. His biometrics were done in India only. My father, in the meantime had traveled to USA to stay with my sister and her family and is currently there.

Is it possible to get his visa stamped in USA VAC instead of New Delhi VAC? We have contacted IRCC via phone call and the agent told us to do webform. We submitted webform and have not yet got any response. Already 30 days submission deadline has passed today. Any suggestion what else can we do?

If anyone has faced similar situation, can they please guide what have they done and what was the final outcome?

Just for records Update from my side is that we received my father's passport today with TRV stamped on the passport. To summarize, we were able to submit the passport in the USA for TRV stamping even when the TRV was approved in India and biometrics were submitted in India, and the visa was stamped in the USA.

@aspirecanada2021 I'm also in a similar situation where I'm currently in USA and my biometrics and application were all done in India. I've tried to raise webforms with the IRCC asking for an extension but I've not received any response from their end. What did you end up doing to get your TRV stamped in USA?

Just for records Update from my side is that we received my father's passport today with TRV stamped on the passport. @Roshan2907 We got the visa approval notification....after that we used two way courier service to send passport to LA center .... we also pretty much didnt get any meaningful response from IRCC, mostly were auto-generated responses I think...... we followed instructions to send the passport as given on TT services website, included all documents as mentioned in the letter generated after creating login, demand draft, waiver form etc in the envelope and send via fedex to LA center .......

And also how long did it take for your passport to be collected back?

Do you have your visa approved? Did you got passport submission letter from IRCC? If not, you have to wait for those first.

I dont understand why are you getting so much stressed.... there is already case in front of you that you can get your visa stamped in USA even if biometrics etc were done in India....then why are you stressed? and we got my father's passport back in a week when we submitted to LA office.... NY office may take longer.....I dont know but that is purely based on what people are talking in forum....

@aspirecanada2021 that's alright. I completely understand.

I got my PPR on 16 May 2022 while I was outside India itself and I won't be back by August first week. When I enquired with VFS India, they said I would have to request for a change of location, thats why the stress factor.

So you're saying the whole process from submitting your passport to receiving it took just a week? Wow, that's quick.

Anyways, about the money order, do you need to have a U.S bank account since I'm just a tourist over here?

Could I know if the charge of USD 67.80 (in the VFS Global site for the two way courier FedEx labels) is separate from the money order charge mentioned in the package checklist? If so, how much should we pay for the money order since they are listing so many charges below and I feel that only $22.80 is applicable for me since I don't want the additional SMS charge.

And one last query, about using a padded envelope for courier, can we just get it from FedEx itself since we will be dropping off the package there?

We emailed to CNGNYIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca and DELHIIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca regarding this issue. Also raised webforms to IRCC ottawa webform: change of contact information and IRCC webform new delhi : visitor visa related enquiry stating the issue. We didnt got any response from anyone along the lines that "go ahead and submit the passport in USA" ... all the responses were pretty much generic...... you can also try all these...email to those and raise the webforms in which you can tell about your situation and attach your Passport details, Valid USA visa and I-94 entry record as a proof.

Please note that I wont recommend attaching your details to the email ids provided above, however attach those when submitting a webform as one whole PDF file as proof of you being in USA. In the email, you can tell your details and explain the situation. We did all this, waited for 2-3 weeks and all we got were generic responses.

So we took leap of faith and sent the passport to LA office with all details and waited. Worst come to worst, they will return the passport without stamping.

1. Yes from passport submission to receiving back from LA office, it took 1 week.

2. I dont know about the money order from US bank. Please go and inquire yourself or ask your friends/family etc in USA else to help you.

3. As far as I remember 67.80$ is different that $22.80. Once you try to create label for fedex, you have to pay 67.80$ online and then get demand draft for 22.80. As far as I remember, there are no option to add SMS services etc although they state it on the website.

4. I think you can buy envelope from Fedex. They usually will help you when you go to their shop with all the documents and tell that its passport submission.
