Trv application

hi.
I just got my student permit renewed.
I dont have a trv and have to apply for one.
I need to go back home for 20 days after 2
Weeks.
Can i apply for a trv from canada online and then mail my passport to them from india when they request it.
I can give them a canadian address to send it back and my friend can then send it back to me back home via courier so that i can use it to come back in the country.
Has anyone done this before.
I dont want to take the option of applying it from back home as the processing time in my country is very long and i have to be back by then.

Any help will be appreciated.

Applying from within Canada ASAP and once it is approved, you can take your passport to the VFS office in India. They can stamp your passport with the visa. I did that for my siblings recently. Just make sure it's the first thing you do when you get to India. When my siblings did theirs, it took 5 business days. It depends on the office.

The current processing times for TRV within Canada is 4 days if you do it online.
