TRV APPLICATION INSIDE CANADA WITH FAMILY

I've been trying to apply for TRV inside canada for my family. However, after answering the eligibility questions online.. they asked me to fill out form 5257 which is correct but form 5708 for my husband (Work Permit) and daughter (Study Permit) which I think is wrong.

Has anyone had the same problem? I could do a paper-based application without complication but I think doing it online will be faster. Hope to hear from someone who had the same experience.

Hi. Just want to share this information here. I called up CIC and they have told me that if we are holding a visitor record and our visa expired while we are in Canada, even though our visitor record is still valid, we cannot renew our visa from inside Canada. We can only renew it outside.

For example:

My daughter is holding visitor record which is valid until October 5, 2020, while her temporary resident visa on her passport had expired January 5, 2020, she cannot renew the temporary resident visa inside Canada. What she can do is travel outside Canada and renew the TRV from there. She can always extend her Visitor record, but not the TRV.
