Thank you, leycute, for answering my questions. I am still holding work permit. I still have to undergo another year to complete my 2 year LCP. But my work visa has expired and I have an extended WP . I am thinking of visiting my home country some time in December. Still a while. I am wondering if it requires an interview to get your TRV approved.

Oh no interview at all...btw, the TRV mostly good for 1 yr, so if it's still far, don't apply too soon...maybe june or july is better if you will travel in December... :)

for sharing :

here's my timeline:

Sent Application : Feb 14,2012
Received Application : Feb 15, 2012
Tracked Return Envelope: MARCH 30, 2012
Estimated Delivery: April 1, 2012..

took sooooooooo long :(

congrats - well really need patience on these...

Thats awesome that you will receive it before your trip. So they did end up using the fedex envelope after all.

I have another question. Does anyone of you who has applied for TRV submit a letter from employer as a supporting document? If you did, can anyone give an example of the letter? What does the employer have to write in the letter?

I think they call it here a letter of verification of employment (as opposed to an employment certificate). This is written on company letterhead, specifying that the applicant is a current employee with <position> since <date> and optionally, includes the employee's salary/compensation (weekly/hourly rate). Should be signed and dated.

The letter stating your currently employed by them from this ------ and they are aware that you're going for vacation from this legion to this period and thy are expecting to be back on this date to continues your work as their caregiver ... Then sign by your employer with their contact numbers :) good luck
