Hello Forum members,
My parents have been retired and they want to visit me (Canadian PR) on June, 2019 for 3 or 4 weeks.
We are thinking to provide the following points to support the trv application,
For family ties,
  • My father owns our home in India
  • Both my mother & father receives retirement pension. They have to renew every year
  • My younger brother is dependent on my parents as still goes to college.
For Financial support,
  • My father got sufficient funds on fixed deposit to manage his stay in Canada.
But I am worried about the following things,
  • Poor travel history. They haven't travel to any other country. This will be their first international travel.
  • Are the family ties mentioned above are good enough?
  • My father transferred most of his retirement benefits to fixed deposit. For financial support, will this be helpful? Or he needs to have more funds in current bank account. FYI, I will be supporting their stay while they are in Canada. I will provide proofs of my income and tax returns.
Can you please suggest me, how to handle the issues i have. Thanks in advance.

Hello Forum members,

Your parents are applying many months in advance. They should apply sometime in March-April.

We are thinking to provide the following points to support the trv application,
For family ties,
My father owns our home in India
Any mortgage?

Both my mother & father receives retirement pension. They have to renew every year
When do they need to renew their pension?

Any other post-retirement benefits?

My younger brother is dependent on my parents as still goes to college.
He's a family tie.

For Financial support,
My father got sufficient funds on fixed deposit to manage his stay in Canada.
Is the interest credited to his bank account regularly or is it cumulative interest payable on maturity of the FD?

But I am worried about the following things,
Poor travel history. They haven't travel to any other country. This will be their first international travel.
Everyone started out as first time travelers at some point in time.

Are the family ties mentioned above are good enough?
What is the purpose of their visit?
When will your brother graduate?
Any other dependent family members?

Your finances are secondary for their applications. They must prove they can afford the visit

No.
When do they need to renew their pension?
My mother has to do between Nov-Dec every year. My father has to do evry Jan.

interest credits to his bank account regularly.
What is the purpose of their visit?
Visit me and my wife and general tourism.
When will your brother graduate?
He got a year and a half left.
Any other dependent family members?
No.

Thanks for your response Bryanna.
My father got a good amount of money after his retirement as retirement benefit which will prove that they can afford for the visit. But he lend major part of the funds to his friends and family as loan. If I he gets back those money & deposit in his account before applying for visa, will it look suspicious. Please share your opinion on this.

Any activity recent on the account with large lump sum money is of course going to raise eyebrows , rest if you can prove somehow the money was of your fathers and now came back to his account again can be the option , but as I said eyebrows will be raised .
