TRV application From India (outside Canada) on a Valid Work Permit (extension)

Hey i just received a reply and visa got refused they said that i might not return back even i am a returning student i don’t know what these guys are doing really

Think you have posted previously about missing exams. Notify school to extend until fall. Did you provide updated letter from school? How long is left on your program? Why did you leave without a TRV?

I know it’s a frustrating situation, we’re on the same boat. Keep patience.

There is no point in contacting as frequently as you’re suggesting. It will not change the processing time.

Some people have been waiting months. Having a work permit doesn't expedite or allow you to jump the queue. You wait for a response.

I have a similar situation and was wondering if anyone went through the same.

I am working in Canada and recently received my work permit extension along with my dependent visitor record. But we had to travel to India due to medical emergency and we had no time and mental state to apply for TRV for my dependent at that time but I have a valid TRV.

my question is from which portal shall I apply TRV for my dependent OLD GCKEY Portal or New IRCC site
Wife - Valid Visitor Record but don't have TRV
Son1- Valid Visitor Record but don't have TRV
Son2- Valid Study Record but don't have TRV

And I plan to contact local MP (canada) as I've read and heard that that might be helpful.

I know it is unpredictable, but just wanted to know if anyone has gone through such situations in the past. Do you have any timeline? Any suggestions?

Hi i applied for a trv on 3 June eligibility started on 11 June still waiting for the decision. I was on official break but my classes will start on 8 July so what can I do in this situation ?

This thread is for people on TRV's outside Canada waiting for work permits extension. Post further question under INternational students.

But defer. You still need approval and passport stamping which can take up to 30 days.

I applied for trv on 3 June from india my review of Eligibility started on 11 June. No update in my application after that. I was on official break but my semester will start on 8 July. So my question is that I can defer my last semester, I will effect pgwp or not . How many days it will take to get trv response. I am worried about that . Please help me

No you can’t defer and still qualify for PGWP. You should not have traveled outside Canada without a TRV and applied much earlier. Try to reach out to your MP to see if you can get expedited processing and your school to see what can be done.

Defer with school. Get authorized leave approved by the school ASAP.

Defer with school. Get authorized leave approved by the school ASAP.

If they defer they won’t qualify for pgwp unless they perhaps had to leave Canada for an emergency reason.
