TRV and Work Permit

Hi,

We are from India.

My spouse has recently received his work permit for 3 years in Canada. However, his TRV is going to expire in May, 2017. Based on his work permit, I want to apply for my open work permit.

I want to know:

1) If i apply for my open work permit, will my duration be based on his work permit duration (3 years) OR his TRV (~9 months)?
2) Under which category in CIC should I apply?

Hi Rinki, Can you please share the timeline in which your husband got the work permit. As I have applied work permit on 21st July online with upfront medical. So far no update. please update. Thanks

Hai pinky,

Please help me as I am on trv too . Have your spouse switched the status from trv to work permit?? As everyone said can't switch the status. Can you please explain the process as we going to apply one soon.
