Yes - you can certainly try applying for a TRV so that you can visit your husband.

Unfortunately TRVs are often refused for people in your situation. However you can certainly try applying and if the TRV is refused, this won't harm your PR application.

I would include with your application the letter that you got stating that your pr application was accepted in priciple. and write a letter stating that you wish to visit your husband in canada while you wait for your pr application to be processed. I have heard other members try this with success as you are allowed to apply for visiting visa with dual intent. or something like that..

Hi, Thanks for your reply and for the informations that i've received.
Actually, my PR documents is still with my husband. He is going to
send it to Missauga as soon as it finished. He is waiting for the approval
of the sponsorship it takes 74 days. We dont yet file my PR documents.
We are following the instructions of the CIC.

So for now, i am going to fill up all the forms for TRV from CIC and read all
the instructions and file it as soon as it finished. Is that possibility
that my application will not refused. Because i dont have travel
history. I have work here in the Philippines as secretary. My husband
told me that he will be the one to take care of all my expenses. I have
my savings but not enough. How much is the canadian dollars requires as
TRV?

Thank you for your help.

Good bless you,

Dorie

we included in our application

-invitation letter
-appartment rental contract
-proof of funds from sponsor and applicant. would be her letter from her bank, her pay stubs (my mom was the one paying for the trip so we also included her pay stubs and bank letter).
-letter from employeer stating that she works there, how long she worked there, and her salary. and some personal reference from her boss.
-employment contract with her company
-we included a letter from my employeer in china stating I work there, for how long and what my income each month is.
-we included letters from my parents, friends, employeers for proof of relationship (we also sent a bundle of pictures).
-even if you dont make alot send how much you have anyway
-send in a cover letter explaning why you want a visiting visa explane your situation.
-birth certificate
-criminal record check
-have everything that you have that is not in english translated, we translated and notarized everything
-return tickets. we didnt have a return ticket at the time but had our travel agent send us an itinarary of the flights we wanted to take and it worked out ok.

fill out all the froms correctly and honestly and fill in as many details as possible.

We provided as much details as possible because we felt that the more details we give and the more questions we answer up front that the more likely we would be granted a visa with out interview. we also felt that if there was some detail left out that we didnt answer that it would be more likely that the visa would not be issued.

anyway that is what we did to apply for the visa im not sure if this is the correct way but it worked for us

another thing is that we applied through a visa center and they checked over the documents for us to make sure everything was filled out correctly and that all the required documents were there. even though it cost a little extra we felt it was worth it.

If I can think of anything else I will add on later.

hope this helps a little

oh I forgot to tell you

the letter from her employeer also stated that she had permission to take leave for vacation, for how many days, and that her position and salary are reserved for when she returns

it also said that they were confident that she would abide by all canadian laws while she is in canada.

also when we applied we had not submitted any PR application so we did not include an approval letter.

if you would like some example letters let me know

I waited to write something till I hear this from wolanila

also when we applied we had not submitted any PR application so we did not include an approval letter.
From what I know, if you have already applied for PR and then apply for a TRV, there will be even higher possibility that your TRV application will be turned down simply becasue it doesn't prove that you want to come back. One applies for PR in order to settle in Canada permanently.

I would suggest you to apply for a TRV now, in the timeframe when your husband is still getting the approval for sponsorship. Your govt. job ("secretary") is a huge plus point. Gather all docs from your employer staing your employment, salary, service length, position and an NOC (No Objection Certificate). An NOC is just like what wolanila said re: a letter that your employer has given you permission for vacation.

Do not apply for a maximum length of TRV (i.e. 6 months). Normally, it's not granted either if you are employed. Make it look like you are really going for a vacation.

The invitation letter from your husband plays an important role as well. If you think that your funds aren't sufficient enough, make your husband promise in writing that he would bear all expenses. In that case, he has to provide proof of funds, letter of employment and all. Besides, prepare the letter touchy enough as to gain sympathy from the VO that you want to see your husband.

Lastly, I would like to say that it will be hard to get a spousal TRV. But every case is unique and you may find youself lukcy. So, best of luck.
